Host a Community Conversation
Just and reparative outcomes are only possible through just and reparative processes. To support the ongoing process of repairing past housing injustice and creating future housing justice, Justice InDeed is making community conversation guides available, deeply informed by community input and dozens of community conversations exploring these issues.
We have created two guides, one for people of white bodies and one for people of bodies of culture.* Everyone can access both guides! But in the spirit of centering healing and by community invitation, we wanted to create separate resources that acknowledge the differing impact of these histories on folks of different bodies, lineages, and ethnicities. Please use the guide that makes the most sense for you and your group. Use what you have time for. Add new things. Leave off what feels less relevant.
*We are indebted to trauma specialist and somatic abolitionist Resmaa Menakem for this language. Please check out his website and his plentiful writings, perhaps starting with My Grandmother’s Hands, for more context.
